Combining the best of the firm’s global expertise with our local experience enables us to help on both a granular, operational level as well as with global growth.

The next decade in Korea and for McKinsey’s office here will feature unprecedented dynamism, as well as uncertainty. Globally, Asia is a growing economic and political center, yet we will face much greater volatility in commodity prices and economies following a decade of ‘great moderation.’ The path to economic recovery in Korea requires a new model for economic growth to cope with forces such as a rapidly aging population, uneven economic productivity, and increasing global competition.

McKinsey Korea is in the middle of this change. We are helping companies see new opportunities and address challenges to expanding in the region and beyond, and supporting collaborations as top global players look to Asia for partners. With a history that spans over 90 years, it’s certainly not the first time McKinsey has witnessed such dynamism and uncertainties in rapidly evolving markets, and as always we bring an unwavering commitment to helping private and public sector clients navigate uncertain territory. Strategically minded businesses will need agility and responsiveness as cornerstones in the new economy. In order to help all companies as a trusted advisor McKinsey will invest heavily in developing new knowledge and insight that can augment our decades of experience in Korea. Combining the best of the firm’s global expertise with our local experience enables us to help on both a granular, operational level as well as with global growth. Our macro and micro level insights help companies chart the right course.

McKinsey Korea is also deeply committed to living up to our people mission – to attract, develop, and excite future leaders of Korea. These are people who have been shaped by our firm’s values and leadership opportunities and have developed a strong conviction to help the country and our clients. On a steep trajectory enabled by an unparalleled breadth of opportunities and developmental support, our people develop into leaders who can bring the deep cross cultural understanding needed to succeed in today’s globalized world. There is no doubt in my mind of the commitment and responsibility that we feel towards our talented Korean team. With over 140 offices around the globe and 130 languages spoken among its 22,000 firm members, McKinsey has the kind of diversity and global perspective that allows development of top tier ‘glocal’ talent that Korea needs at this critical stage.
