About Fumiaki

Fumiaki has worked on a wide range of issues in financial services including country strategies for a global bank, an emerging market entry strategy for a large Japanese bank, and, more recently, business transformation for a regional bank, leveraging advanced analytics and digital innovations. In addition, he has helped transform a life insurance company’s operating model to meet new customer behaviors and regulatory requirements. This work included not only large organizational change, but also building an enhanced value proposition to its agents/customers, new performance metrics and KPIs, incentive structures, and a full change management program to transform the mindsets and behaviors of key field roles.

He has worked extensively in the arena of corporate investment banking and business transformations with a strong focus on change management. He has also been working on digital topics, including advanced analytics use cases and digital transformations.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Fumiaki was the manager of corporate banking, serving food and alcoholic beverage manufacturers for The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (currently MUFG).
