About Eric
A director of McKinsey based in Paris, Eric Labaye is in charge of global knowledge and communications and is the chairman of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI).
He has the responsibility of ensuring that McKinsey develops and brings the most advanced knowledge and distinctive perspectives to decision makers across the world, in order to help them shape their decisions and solve the critical issues that they face in the global economy. In this scope, he manages the research investments and operations of McKinsey at a global level.
Eric is a member of the Operating Committee of the firm and was the managing director of the France Office from 2002 to 2010. As a leader of McKinsey's worldwide Telecommunications and High Tech practices, he worked extensively for clients in these industries as well as for public and health institutions on a variety of strategic and operational issues including major transformation programs.
He has been a member of the Commission pour la Libération de la Croissance Française (Release of Growth in France) since its creation in 2007, and has been a member of the Commission Economique de la Nation (French National Economic Commission) since 2005. He is also involved in the educational and cultural fields where he contributes to several development initiatives, and is a member of the International Advisory Board of Essec, the boards of Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications and of the Sciences Po Doctoral school. In 2009, he was also a member of the Commission in charge of defining a new model for the French University Hospital system and the development of IHU (University Hospital Institutes).
