World Economic Forum 2005 - Biography – David Fine

David Fine

David Fine is a partner of McKinsey.  He joined the Johannesburg office in 1995.  He has worked across many industries on a variety of operational, strategic, and organization issues. 

His relevant experience with McKinsey includes leading a broad, performance-based cultural change and capability-building program at a large South African mining company (from executive to front line); developing a logistics strategy for a large client, which included developing an integrated planning, scheduling, routing model, and costing model; helping one of the top global pharmaceutical companies drive further purchasing improvements through reorganization; supporting an IT merger of two large companies including defining the new organization and application/operations architecture and helping to define the migration strategy; developing and implementing an international expansion strategy for a large corporation, including developing the business model, structure, partnership strategy, and supporting implementation.

Fine is also a core leader of the McKinsey European Service Operations and Capability- building Practices. He holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from WITS University, 1994.
