About Gary
Gary is a director in McKinsey’s San Francisco office, and the global leader of the firm’s Private Equity & Principal Investing Practice, which he cofounded over a decade ago.
Gary’s client work focuses on the private equity sector. He also serves a number of companies in the healthcare industry across a range of strategic, operational, and organizational topics. He joined the firm in 1990 and, in addition to San Francisco, has worked in McKinsey’s Houston, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Sydney, and Zurich offices.
He serves on the boards of the California Academy of Sciences, the Menlo School, the California Business Roundtable, and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. He has authored several papers on California Competitiveness and speaks at multiple industry forums on a range of business topics.
