Healthcare Systems & Services

Improvements in healthcare have dramatically increased life expectancy, and new treatments are improving the quality of life. Yet this progress has created daunting economic challenges, with annual growth in healthcare spending exceeding GDP growth in most developed countries. Following the global financial crisis, the NHS and the social care system are experiencing a period of sustained cost pressure, forcing GP commissioners, provider boards and local authorities to confront difficult choices and trade-offs in safety, efficiency and access.

What we do

We work with healthcare leaders to improve health outcomes. We help:

  • National and regional health services transform care delivery and make it more sustainable
  • Hospitals transform clinical, operational and financial performance
  • Academic medical centres refocus their strategy, operations and governance
  • Primary, community and mental health trusts improve out-of-hospital care
  • Integrated care organisations improve healthcare delivery
  • Global public health agencies support developing countries in transforming their healthcare.

Our approach is highly collaborative, from guiding system leaders as they set priorities to working with nurses to improve hospital ward operations.
