About Sameer
Sameer Gulati is a principal in McKinsey’s London office. He has served clients in Europe, the US and Africa across a range of financial services focusing on retail banking, consumer credit and payments, and alternative investments. He leads McKinsey’s efforts in EMEA to help clients with the workout and assessment of distressed assets, and on digital payments.
Sameer’s recent client work includes leading the multi-year transformation of a global bank, defining the five-year aspiration and strategic direction for a major corporate bank, developing acquisition and partnership opportunities for a leading credit-card provider and launching a digital service for a top UK bank.
He has also advised a western European government on restructuring the country’s financial sector including the design and structure of a bad bank, assessing the robustness of remaining financial institutions, designing workout mechanisms for non-performing assets and estimating the impact of the crisis on corporations and individuals.
Sameer holds an MBA in strategy and entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BTech in chemical engineering and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi.
