About Jonathan
Jonathan Dimson is a principal in McKinsey’s London office. The main focus of his work is improving performance in public sector bodies and private companies in Europe, especially in the healthcare industry.
Jonathan has worked with a number of hospitals to develop strategies, mobilise their teams and deliver improvements in productivity and quality. He has helped medical device players develop business and sales strategies to accelerate growth in Europe, and led teams to redesign health and social care systems from merging organisations to redesigning payments systems.
Outside the healthcare sector, Jonathan works with one of Europe's leading telecommunications companies, helping them to improve organisational health to support longer term growth. He also works with Housing Associations as they navigate the changing economic and policy environment, and expand their reach into commercial property and service businesses.
Jonathan was one of the lead authors of the recent McKinsey report “From austerity to prosperity: Seven priorities for the long term,” which explores how the UK can improve its prospects of economic growth.
In a voluntary capacity, Jonathan is a member of the Greater Manchester Economic Advisory Panel, he co-founded Clinic Africa, a charity that funds and builds primary care clinics in Uganda, and chairs a children's learning centre.
Before joining McKinsey, Jonathan held directorships at a kitchen retailer, a hotel IT provider and a health research business. He has an MBA from London Business School, an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics and an MA in economics from Cambridge University.
