About Jamie

Jamie Cattell is a principal in McKinsey’s London office. He is a leader of our Pharmaceutical & Medical Products Practice in Europe and leads our work on healthcare IT and our initiative on big data in healthcare. Working mainly with life science and medical technology clients, he focuses on issues in commercial strategy and organisation.

Among Jamie’s recent projects, he helped develop an e-health strategy for a central nervous system drug to create a differentiating service offering for the care givers of patients with cognitive disorders. He advised on a real-world data strategy for a leading pharmaceutical company and provided implementation support, helping the company to identify and negotiate data partnerships and design and build a centre of excellence. He has extensive experience of assisting with product launch strategies across many therapeutic areas, including carrying out detailed funding and patient-flow mapping to identify and address bottlenecks.

Before joining McKinsey, Jamie was an entrepreneur in a tech start-up and IT director of a market research company. He has an MBA from INSEAD and a degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford.
