About Paul

Paul is a principal in McKinsey’s Zurich office and leads our work in pharmaceutical marketing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as leading our work on pharmaceutical launch worldwide. He has been serving clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry for more than 15 years, and has worked in more than 25 countries. His main areas of focus are product launch, marketing and sales strategy, performance transformation, and capability building.

In the past 10 years, Paul has supported the launch of 16 blockbuster drugs and medical products, most of which exceeded expectations for the first year of performance. He has also advised on six major product turnarounds in the top five European markets, helping to revitalize stagnating products. Paul has assisted three of the global top ten pharma companies with multi-year marketing and sales effectiveness programs in their European headquarters and country organizations. Working with one major pharma company, he led a sales excellence program to implement a new commercial model that delivered lower costs, greater customer satisfaction, and an increase in market share.

Paul has led growth programs in Russia and Turkey for companies in the pharmaceutical and nutrition sectors, helping them to build market presence and accelerate revenue growth. He has also supported a number of companies with major acquisitions, driving business planning, due diligence, and post-acquisition financial integration.
