About John

John is a director of McKinsey and leads our strategy work in the Zurich office. His areas of expertise include performance improvement for mobile and fixed-line operators and broad strategy topics for clients in retail, financial services, and other sectors.

Early in his McKinsey career John spent several years in Brussels serving financial institutions and telecom operators. After deepening his expertise in 3G mobile through work in Japan and the US, he moved to Dubai and served clients in telecom and banking. John helped to create their expansion strategies and is still driving their transformation into high-performing companies. In Switzerland, John supports leading banks, retailers, and telecom clients in their strategy design, organizational design, and sales and marketing topics.

Before joining McKinsey, John set up and managed a Volvo subsidiary for the sales and distribution of truck components in North America, later returning to Europe as commercial director of the division.
