About Ferruccio
Ferruccio is a principal in McKinsey’s Zurich office, where he leads our Swiss Business Technology Practice. He has deep expertise in helping companies to raise their performance by adopting a holistic approach to optimize their IT and operations. He is a member of our European Insurance Practice and leads our global Outsourcing & Offshoring Practice.
Ferruccio’s main focus is on helping clients in the financial services industry to optimize their IT and operations. This involves working with CEOs, CIOs, COOs, and other senior executives to ensure that the IT and operations functions are managed efficiently and effectively and are aligned with strategic business priorities.
In one recent client project, Ferruccio helped a leading European insurer to reorganize its support functions in the UK and define a radically more efficient operating model to absorb the loss of scale following a major M&A deal that drastically reduced the size of the business. For another client, the internal IT service provider of a top-three worldwide insurer, Ferruccio advised on the development of a five-year strategy, analyzing the competitive pressures from external providers trying to capture market share and balancing them against the strategic rationale for an internal provider.
Outside his consulting work, Ferruccio lectures on outsourcing strategy on the executive course faculty at Judge Business School, Cambridge University. Before joining McKinsey, he spent eight years implementing large IT systems, working from developer to technical architect and from business analyst to program manager.
