About Andreas
Andreas is a director in McKinsey’s Zurich office. He advises the top management of industrial, chemical, and high-tech companies, and co-leads the development of our work for these sectors in Switzerland. Among recent projects, he has helped a client improve the yield and energy efficiency of a complex chemical plant and supported a heavy-haul railway operator in adopting lean methods for managing capacity.
Another area of Andreas’s expertise is the telecom industry. He has served fixed-line, wireless, and integrated operators and equipment providers across Western, Eastern, and Southern Europe, advising senior executives on areas from market entry to multimedia and from regulatory strategy to overhead value analysis.
Andreas covers a broad range of topics in his work with clients, including corporate and business unit strategy, productivity improvement, manufacturing optimization, lean operations, supply chain excellence, large-scale organizational transformation, and merger management.
Between 2005 and 2009 Andreas led McKinsey’s Athens office, extending our work with clients in Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Cyprus and developing a deep and continuing interest in Southern Europe.
