Are you interested in entering the world of management consulting? Would you like a taste of what it’s like to work in a diverse team developing cutting-edge solutions for clients?

We offer two different programs, one geared to undergraduate and postgraduate students and one designed for MBA students.

Our internship program runs regularly throughout the year and lasts for 12 weeks. It offers opportunities for students in the last year of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree program to experience McKinsey’s integrated approach to problem solving and teamwork and gain valuable work experience.

Who should apply?

The internship program in McKinsey’s Swiss office is designed for students who have strong ties to Switzerland and are interested in pursuing a long-term career with us.

We welcome applications from students in the final year of their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program who have:

• A very good academic record marked by strong analytical and communication skills
• Experience gained through extracurricular activities
• A desire for personal impact and a commitment to learning
• Fluency in either French or German and an excellent command of English.

Our summer associate program, which runs for 8 to 12 weeks between June and August every year, is designed to give students an insight into life at McKinsey. It is open to MBA students at international business schools who are on summer break.

Who should apply?

The summer associate program in McKinsey’s Swiss office is designed for MBA students from international business schools who have:

• A very good academic record marked by strong analytical and communication skills
• Experience gained through extracurricular activities
• A desire for personal impact and a commitment to learning
• Fluency in either French or German and an excellent command of English.

As an intern or a summer associate, you’ll get a first-hand impression of the day-to-day life of a McKinsey consultant. You’ll be a fully fledged member of a consulting team and experience some of the challenges that a client project presents. You’ll gather and analyze information, meet client teams, prepare proposals and communications, and present findings to senior client executives.

While you work, experienced consultants will provide guidance and coaching and give you a sense of McKinsey’s people, values, and spirit.

At the end of your program you’ll be able to judge whether a career with McKinsey appeals to you, and we’ll decide whether to offer you a permanent position as a consultant in the Swiss office.
