About Gloria
Gloria Macías-Lizaso is a Partner in McKinsey’s Madrid office. The main focus of her work is in the telecom, retail, and public sectors, where she supports leading institutions on marketing, organization, and strategy. In Europe, she has led the pricing service line within the Telecom Practice and, more recently, has focused on corporate finance and strategy.
Gloria has supported clients in more than 15 countries, from the Philippines to Chile, helping them achieve substantial and sustainable performance improvements. She believes passionately that the optimal solution is the enemy of the good solution and tailors McKinsey’s recommendations to the client organization’s culture to ensure that they can be implemented successfully.
In the telecom sector, Gloria has helped clients to completely redefine their service portfolio in countries as diverse as South Africa, Turkey, and Spain. More recently, she worked with a large multinational operator to reduce its capital expenditure needs by more than 25 percent. In the retail sector, her work spans from a purely operational project to improve in-store efficiency to purely commercial projects to optimize pricing and improve shrinking margins. In all of these situations, building client capabilities was a core part of her work. In the public sector, her work focuses on strategies to increase the impact and effectiveness of organizations within society.
Gloria has also worked in the McKinsey Copenhagen and Brussels offices.
