About Alberto

Alberto has 20 years’ experience in the energy and materials sectors—at McKinsey and in his previous roles as a senior executive at Endesa. He has served as a board member of electric utilities around the world including SNET, France; Chilectra, Chile; Endesa, Brazil; and Elektrocieplownia Bialystok, Poland. He leads McKinsey’s Global Energy and Materials Practice in Iberia as well as our power and gas transmission and distribution service line in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Alberto has served several of the largest electric power companies in Europe across a wide variety of areas, including strategy, regulation, corporate finance, and operations. He also works with leading organizations in the water utilities and oil and gas sectors.

In his focus area of power and gas transmission and distribution, Alberto has helped some of the main European utilities conceive and design “smart grids.” He leads McKinsey’s knowledge development on the topic in Europe, with a focus on the business case for smart grids for both society and utilities.

Alberto has also worked extensively on corporate-finance topics in the energy sector and is a certified corporate-finance partner.
