Why McKinsey

I studied telecommunications engineering in Barcelona and did my final thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. When I was in Boston, I got the chance to meet several McKinsey consultants who were studying for their MBAs. The passion they shared with me about their jobs immediately impressed me: constant challenges and real impact in helping clients, while working in teams of exceptional people. I knew this would be the perfect place to start a career, continue learning, and apply the solid base of structured and analytical thinking I’d developed in my engineering studies.

Broad experience, tangible impact

Since I joined McKinsey as a fellow, I’ve worked in telecommunications, banking and insurance, and in functions as diverse as finance, strategy, marketing and operations. In my last engagement, I led a team of four consultants to help a bank optimize its expenses and transform its procurement. It was incredibly rewarding to work with the client and identify savings that would help them better navigate the current economic environment.

Making the most of the firm's global presence

After finishing my MBA at Columbia, I wanted to round off my education with some professional experience in the United States. I therefore applied for a transfer to the New York office. McKinsey supported me and granted me a one-year transfer that allowed me to tackle new challenges and learn from a different working culture.
