About Vladimir
Vladimir joined McKinsey’s Moscow office in 2001. He leads strategy, operations, and organizational development projects in the oil & gas and mining sectors. Vladimir has led the implementation of a series of oil & gas projects covering the optimization of field development, and both onshore and offshore upstream operations.
Examples of his work in the oil and gas industry include: leading a major subsurface review of mature fields for a North Sea independent oil company; developing a medium-term upstream transformation program for a leading Russian oil company operating in Western Siberia, including field-centered optimization (subsurface and surface infrastructure optimization) to boost oil production and optimize capex and operating costs; developing a major upstream purchasing transformation program for a Russian oil company; conducting a detailed diagnostic of the upstream division of a leading Russian oil company; developing a structured operations transformation program; helping to transform the organization and develop a performance management system for a Russian oil company; conducting a diagnostic and redesigning core management processes for a national oil & gas company; developing an investment strategy for a national oil product pipeline network.
Among other projects, his work in the mining industry includes maintenance system improvement, optimization of purchasing operations, and merger support. In addition, Vladimir has experience in the financial sector, the infrastructure sector, and the automotive industry.
He is a member of McKinsey’s global Oil & Gas practice and our Upstream Operations service line.
Before joining McKinsey, Vladimir worked in the Russian banking sector, focusing on international banking services and correspondent banking.
