About Semyon
Since joining McKinsey in 2004, Semyon has conducted multiple projects for banking clients in Russia and Ukraine on a wide range of issues related to strategy design, development and implementation of operational transformation programs.
Recent engagements in the banking sector include: developing and implementing a centralized operating model for one of the largest Russian universal banks, including design and set up of back office operational and support functions; developing a banking strategy in Russia for a leading international bank, including market and competition analysis, client segmentation, establishment of the target model of service distribution and business plan preparation, including financial model; developing a comprehensive business plan and financial model of the mortgage business for a major Russian bank; conducting operations benchmarking of several leading Russian retail banks; developing and implemented a pricing adjustment model, including the development of product and service package for corporate clients, introduction of changes in the cost of banking products and removal of factors decreasing the interest rate for the bank; conducting diagnostics of the debt collection process, organization and tools a large Russian retail bank.
Semyon also has broad experience conducting operations transformation, strategy and organization development projects in the oil and gas sectors. Examples of his work include: setting up and supporting the work of an integration office of a large oil company; assessing synergies in an oil company merger; developing recommendations and providing rationale for changes to the organizational model and productivity management system of a large industrial company; developing a cost reduction program in raw materials procurement for a large petrochemical company and developing recommendations for the procurement service organization; designing an operational efficiency program for the support service departments of a large industrial enterprise; developing recommendations to improve the organization and management system in support services; developing a profitability improvement program for a large petrochemical company through pricing optimization and changing the distribution structure.
Semyon is a member of the European Banking Practice focusing on operations improvement.
Prior to McKinsey he worked as a lawyer, providing counsel on mergers and acquisitions.
