About George
A member of McKinsey’s Moscow office since 2001 and a leader of McKinsey’s Eastern European Petroleum practice, George serves clients in the oil and gas, mining, and metallurgy sectors where he focuses on strategy development, organizational transformation, operations improvement, and procurement system enhancement as well as regulatory strategy and compliance.
George’s recent engagements include: devising a strategy for investment in developing a large oil refining complex; defining a program for a turnaround of the organizational structure and oil production business system of a large oil-producing company; devising a development strategy for the national oil sector; implementing a large-scale operations improvement program at oil-producing and oil-refining assets; developing a concept for organization of materials and services procurement; defining principles for motor-fuel market regulation; building up processes and management systems for the implementation of large-scale modernization and capital construction processes; implementation of operations improvement programs at mining companies.
Before joining McKinsey, George worked in Russian for Merck Sharp & Dohme, the international chemical and pharmaceutical company.
