About Elena
Elena joined McKinsey’s Moscow office in 2001. She works with public sector organizations and companies in the telecommunications and oil industries.
Her recent engagements in the public sector include: supporting the development of comprehensive economic reform package for an Eastern European country; helping to develop a strategy for regional development; designing a strategy for tourism development; formulating plans for an innovation cluster; identifying best practice applications of business incubators to stimulate innovation; designing a development program for infrastructure and energy industries; supporting policymakers as they developed legislation on key structural reforms; developing proposals to deal with the effect of the economic crisis and to increase long-term competitiveness for several key sectors.
Elena’s recent engagements in the telecom industry include: developing a performance improvement program; assessing strategic options; supporting the launch of a new business.
Elena is a member of McKinsey’s Public Sector practice, focusing on strategies for regional development and innovation cluster development. Before joining the firm, she was CEO of Iridium Eurasia, the operator of the Iridium satellite telecom system.
