Joined McKinsey in 2006. Provides consulting support to oil & gas and metallurgical companies on a wide variety of issues, including strategic planning, organizational and operational transformation, and investment management. Examples of recent projects include: development strategy elaboration for the oil refining business and optimization of refinery upgrading programs for a leading Russian oil company; development of a program involving operational transformation, improved equipment reliability, higher efficiency of shutdown repairs and maintenance for leading Russian refineries; development of an operational transformation program for a large Russian oil & gas company, building of a new organization to promote continuous implementation of improvements; go-to-market strategy development for a leading global oil & gas company; development of an energy efficiency program for a leading petrochemical holding in Thailand; definition of the key international development areas for the oil refining business of an oil company in Saudi Arabia; development of a portfolio strategy for an Eastern European industrial group covering more than ten different sectors; development of a labor productivity improvement program for a large metallurgical holding; development of an equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency improvement program for a large metallurgical holding.
Alexander is a member of McKinsey’s global Oil & Gas practice. He is a leading expert in development strategies and operational transformation in the oil refining sector.
Prior to McKinsey, Alexander was Project Manager in the Corporate Finance practice at Deloitte.
