About Peter
Peter de Wit is managing partner of both McKinsey’s Amsterdam office and our Western Europe group, comprising Benelux, France, and Morocco.
Peter works with leading companies in a range of sectors—particularly electric power and financial services—to shape their strategies for profitable growth, improve their commercial orientation, and strengthen their operations. He has supported several such clients in designing and executing large-scale performance transformations to improve efficiency and customer service, strengthen employee capabilities and mind-sets, and boost profitability.
In all his work, Peter collaborates with clients to build leaders in their organizations. His vision is for McKinsey to be the preeminent leadership development institution in the Netherlands, inspiring talented people across society to lead a new “golden age” of growth, with Amsterdam at its heart.
Peter is also passionate about applying McKinsey’s knowledge and problem-solving approach to the greatest social challenges—in education, health care, and development—in the Netherlands and beyond. He encourages colleagues at all levels to play active roles in pro bono initiatives, and his commitment to strengthening health care is rooted in his own experience as a father of a severely handicapped daughter.
Peter is an avid supporter of classical music and has explored many remote parts of the world with his family—including Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
