About Jasper
Jasper van Ouwerkerk is a director in McKinsey’s Amsterdam office and leads our Service Operations Practice in Europe. He was at the forefront of translating “lean Six Sigma” thinking from manufacturing to services, and co-leads our global Lean Management Practice.
The focus of Jasper’s client work is on designing, piloting, implementing, and scaling end-to-end operational transformation programs—including capability-building and customer-experience components—in sectors as varied as financial services, telecoms, energy, consumer goods, and government.
For example, Jasper helped a large European insurance company move from financial distress to market leadership in the space of a few years through a transformation program that focused on building the confidence and capabilities of the entire organization—from the leadership team to the front line. He has shaped similar programs for leading companies across Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
In all his work, Jasper is passionate about developing leadership skills among his clients and colleagues. A key focus of the transformation program he leads is to transfer McKinsey’s knowledge and capabilities to client organizations. He creates peer-to-peer networks for his clients, including through “inspiration tours” to learn from the best innovators in service operations around the globe.
Jasper also works with the Dutch public sector, helping it achieve world-class productivity—something he sees as essential if the Netherlands is to retain and strengthen its role as a world hub for innovation.
