Having global impact
Doing something meaningful and having a positive impact on others have always been my aspirations. That and working hand in hand with true leaders who are changing the world through business was a goal since my childhood. As life has its mysterious ways of guiding people, it has led me to McKinsey, where I work with a global network of people who I think are the closest in reflecting my aspirations and realizing my vision. My friends and colleagues at the firm are delivering real impact in every corner of the world. One such group has revitalized a traditional market, while another developed a business model for homeless people—something never done but needed.
Connecting with people from all over the world
During my time at McKinsey I’ve had to grow beyond my traditional boundaries through the people I interact with on a daily basis. In this regard, I think the most significant benefit of working at McKinsey is collaborating with people from various backgrounds from all over the world. Working with a Czech doctor of engineering, an Indian procurement expert, an Australian mining expert, and an American with an MBA while doing a project in Australia is a perfect example of how diverse we are at McKinsey. Each of us came from a different country and cultural background. Nevertheless, we worked well together using McKinsey values as our common touchstone. Because the firm is united by these values, even diverse, international teams are easily unified and can create value for clients. The high standards of professionalism have become part of my DNA, reinforced every day at the firm and helping me grow as a potential global leader.
Growing as a leader
I would like to create a more socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world. Over the course of several projects I’ve worked with leaders in many different countries, industries, and functions. The firm gives you access to distinctive people at all levels who will support and coach you throughout your career and also provide the opportunity to help, learn, challenge, and be challenged. I believe this vast network of talented people prepares me to succeed in a leadership role in which I sincerely hope to have global impact. For sure, the firm is the right place to build a strong foundation of skills needed to meet my aspirations.
