About Saikiran
Saikiran Krishnamurthy is a director in McKinsey’s Mumbai office and the leader of our Chemicals and Agriculture Practice in India. Saikiran also leads the Operations Practice and McKinsey Implementation in India, bringing new delivery capabilities to clients to help achieve better results from McKinsey's work with them.
Saikiran has worked closely with leading chemical companies in India, the United States, and Europe, helping them shape strategy, build new businesses, and strengthen functional capabilities. His driving passion is to help build a vibrant chemical industry in India and help Indian companies become global champions.
In 2011, Saikiran authored a report with the Confederation of Indian Industry to define a road map for India’s specialty chemicals industry to grow to $100 billion. He maintains an active dialogue with industry CEOs and government to help realise this growth potential and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences in India and around the world.
In his leadership role in our Operations Practice and in McKinsey Implementation, Saikiran has partnered with major companies in a range of industries to strengthen their operational capabilities, creating a strong foundation for profitable growth. This work has involved several innovations to help clients achieve and sustain improvements—ranging from running “academies” to build capabilities at scale to creating new management tools to measure and improve the long-term health of a business or function.
