About Indrek
Indrek Heinloo is an associate principal in McKinsey’s Lagos office. Originally from Estonia, he moved to Nigeria in 2009, excited by the opportunity to contribute to Africa’s economic development. He has expertise in operations management and leads McKinsey’s Operations Practice in West Africa. Additionally, he has broad experience in the design and implementation of business-transformation programs and in technology enablement.
Indrek has worked in Africa and Europe with leading companies in the banking, telecommunications, and oil and gas industries, as well as in the public sector.
He worked, for instance, with a leading bank in Africa to design and implement a “lean” transformation program focused on process improvements, sales enhancement, performance management, and culture transformation. As part of this program, he managed the first wave of transformation projects across five countries. He has also designed operational-excellence programs and branch transformations for major European banks.
Indrek has also worked in the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors in Nigeria and supported the country’s government on topics related to implementation of the president’s transformation agenda.
