People with bachelors’ degrees and excellent academic records join McKinsey’s business-analyst program. We attract MBAs who thrive in entrepreneurial environments. They carve their own paths, challenge limitations, and are passionate about creating impact. More than half of our consultants have advanced degrees in fields other than business—doctorates, medical, law, and more.

Business analyst program

People with bachelors’ degrees join McKinsey as business analysts. Some stay for 2 or 3 years before attending business school or gaining further work experience. Others are invited to stay at McKinsey and move directly into an associate role.

Junior associate and associate

Junior associates and associates lead a key portion of a McKinsey engagement, combining technical and analytical excellence to help solve their piece of the overall client puzzle. They work directly with senior client leaders to implement change. These roles are suitable for experienced professionals with 2 to 8 years of solid work experience, and for students currently studying toward a doctorate (PhD), law degree (LLB), medical degree (MD), non-business master’s degree, or MBA.

Summer internship program

Our 10-week summer internship program is only open to first-year MBA students. Interns work as integral members of our teams, experiencing McKinsey life firsthand.
