Yasir leads McKinsey’s sales and marketing efforts in Energy and the Materials sector for the Asia-Pacific region. He brings clients in both sectors deep functional expertise in distributor management, key account management, sales growth and commercial transformations. The majority of his work involves driving front-line change and working with senior management to drive top line growth and margin enchancement.
Yasir’s client contributions include developing and implementing a commercial transformation program for a global manufacturing firm headquartered in Europe. Yasir and his team developed tools, methods, and processes to improve sales execution related to key accounts, distributor sales, and original equipment manufacturer sales. Other recent projects included designing and driving a business-transformation program for a global materials company that encompassed improvements to the client’s bidding process, its project management, and the use of lean-construction techniques.
Yasir has also contributed to McKinsey’s Social Sector Practice, spearheading a two-year organizational renewal project for a not-for-profit health-services client.
Prior to McKinsey, Yasir worked for Owens Corning as a project engineer and later as an area sales manager selling to large regional distributors, national big boxes, and national homebuilders.
