Oil & Gas

McKinsey's Oil & Gas Practice in Japan helps clients meet their near-term performance challenges and devise strategies to succeed long-term in the increasingly complex energy sector.

We serve many of the most important energy companies in oil and gas, as well as trading houses that invest and operate in this area. Our extensive experience spans upstream and downstream functions and processes. Recent upstream projects have helped clients improve exploration and production, midstream refining, LNG, and distribution. Efforts in downstream retail have included helping clients develop new business opportunities, conduct M&A and alliances, enter new markets, and build functional capabilities in the areas of purchasing, strategy, and sales and marketing.
