Vivek is the leader of our Insurance Practice for the Asia Pacific Region. His client work includes strategy, operations, and organizational issues across a wide range of financial institutions both in the United States and in Asia, with deep expertise in life insurance, distribution, and retirement.
Vivek’s recent work includes:
- Delivering a step change in earnings growth for a global insurer by developing a performance partnership across several functions
- Improving the research capabilities and talent, including compensation redesign for a global asset manager
- Developing an innovative new distribution channel and operations platform for a financial services company.
Vivek has authored numerous research articles on innovation and performance in financial services, the most recent being The Life Journey, a study of trends in the US life insurance industry and what winners are doing to separate themselves from the rest. He has also served several public clients and led research initiatives; as a fellow of the McKinsey Global Institute, he co-authored studies on productivity growth in the US economy and on impact of foreign direct investments.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Vivek practiced as an urban planner in Boston.
