Fumiaki has worked on wide range of issues in financial services including product (e.g., transaction banking, FICC) and country strategies for a global bank, an emerging market entry strategy for a large Japanese regional banks and a business integration strategy for acquisition targets in the US. In addition, he helped to transform a life insurance company’s operating model to meet new customer behaviors and regulatory requirements. This work included not only organizational change but also, enhanced value proposition to its agents, new performance metrics and KPIs, compensation and full change management program to transform the mindsets and behaviors of key field roles.
He has worked extensively in the arena of corporate investment banking with a strong focus on transaction banking and FICC (Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities) businesses which are fundamental to the support of globalizing Japanese and Asian companies.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Fumiaki was the manager of corporate banking, serving food and alcoholic beverage manufacturers for The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (currently MUFG).
