Do I need to be an Angolan citizen to work in Angola?
No, but you need to speak Portuguese and, depending on your country of origin, visa requirements may apply.
What is the best way to submit an application?
When can I apply?
You can apply online anytime if you are a student or doing post-graduate work or working towards your MBA.
Will my office preference affect whether or not I receive an interview?
We select candidates to interview based on the criteria listed in the “What We Look For” section, not on geographic preference.
My academic background is not very strong. Will you still consider me?
We expect applicants to have strong academic records. However, if you have post-academic experience that is distinctive, we will consider your background.
Why isn’t McKinsey coming to my school?
McKinsey is committed to hiring diverse and exceptionally talented people. However, our resource capacity makes it difficult to visit every school where we know top talent exists. Even if we are unable to come in person to your school, we are still interested in reviewing your application.
Do I need a business background to be considered?
While a keen interest in business is critical, a business degree is not. Our business analysts have degrees in many fields, including the liberal arts and sciences. In fact, the majority of business analysts have degrees outside of business or economics.
Are there opportunities for summer internships in Angola?
We offer summer internships on project teams for graduates with bachelor’s degrees, MBAs and post-graduate students. Our interns have the opportunity to experience the challenges our team face on a daily basis.
Can I reapply after being turned down?
You may, although we don’t accept applications within two years of the initial screening. If it has been more than two years since your first application, you can reapply. In such cases, we will review your new résumé combined with the résumé, written tests and interview results from the first application.
