At McKinsey, operations consulting is a profession that embraces a range of demanding roles. Chief among them are serving clients, developing knowledge, and building the practice.
As a member of dedicated interdisciplinary project teams, you will work at client sites all over the world, not only applying and developing your practical expertise, but also acting as an advisor, mentor, teacher, and coach to client staff and McKinsey colleagues.
You will have the opportunity to learn from the best practitioners in your field and from working with clients at all levels. In turn, we want you to share your experience and know-how with colleagues internationally, extending the firm’s body of knowledge and developing, refining, and codifying its approaches.
Your expertise will be a valuable resource in our efforts to continue expanding and strengthening the Operations Practice. You will provide support in the preparation of project proposals and client discussions, in project planning, and in the organization of client workshops, meetings, and conferences.
At every stage of your career in the Operations Practice, you will confront and manage an exciting range of challenges, both practical and intellectual. Some of them will be extremely tough. But you will have the satisfaction of knowing that, while helping our clients realize their greatest potential, you will also be maximizing your own.
We maintain a diverse, friendly, and merit-based culture, and you will be working
with highly intelligent and intellectually curious people. The firm cultivates
an apolitical and mutually supportive environment. Personal mentoring and
coaching will be available throughout your McKinsey career.
We do our best to ensure that our consultants enjoy a
balanced lifestyle, particularly because the vast majority of them are parents.
Hours worked at McKinsey are similar to those worked in other top professions.
We encourage consultants to spend Fridays in their home office in order to
connect with colleagues, build networks, and, importantly, to be closer to
home.
