Business Analyst Training is a 1-week course in advanced problem solving, and interpersonal and communication skills. Business analysts and other pre-associates attend this workshop 6 to 12 months after joining the firm. It's a great chance to revisit what you’ve learned, strengthen core skills based on your team experiences, and expand your McKinsey network by spending time with peers from other offices.
Initial Leadership Workshop is an intensive 2-week workshop for associates who are ready to take on a leadership role in problem solving. The first week addresses dealing with conflict, handling different operating styles, influencing with integrity, and facilitating group work. The second week applies these skills in more complex simulated client situations. The participants are coached to demonstrate a top executive mind-set, stay ahead of the problem, lead the problem-solving process proactivel, leverage the firm's knowledge resources, and motivate the client to take action.
Engagement Management Basics and Engagement Leadership Workshop are designed to provide the practical tools that you'll need as you become an engagement manager. These programs focus on project management, building teams, leading the problem-solving process, providing coaching and feedback, and building client relationships.
Client Leadership Workshop is designed to help newly designated associate principals develop as leaders in client service. The goal is to help participants develop the confidence to lead a peer relationship with client executives and learn through this relationship how to improve a client organization's performance. Participants think through their leadership strengths and weaknesses, reflect on professional development aspirations, ad map a course for the next 4 to 5 years. Through role-play exercises, participants test and reinforce their relationship building skills.
New Partners Orientation is a week-long seminar for new partners and their spouses/significant others, to celebrate their election and help them learn more about their new role. An important focus of the program is getting to know your peers and understanding the responsibilities you now have to the firm.
Programs Designed to Build Specific Skills Other formal learning programs help you develop specific capabilities. For example, the Communications Skills Workshop helps consultants build speaking and presentation skills, and shows them how to adapt their personal communication styles to different settings.
