Suraj leads McKinsey's Sub Saharan Telecoms and High Tech practices, where he specializes in several areas with cross-industry relevance including digital consumer behaviour, emerging markets, digital marketing and pricing, and operational transformations.
Suraj is particularly passionate about emerging innovation, having published and spoken on topics such as dynamic discounting, multi-SIMming, wireless broadband economics, wireless applications, and service enabler platforms.
His recent work includes delivering an immediate EBITDA upswing at an African mobile operator through pricing and distribution transformation initiatives. He also guided the development of analytical marketing capabilities at an African telecom. He has led several go-to-market initiatives, including development of a tactical go-to-market plan for an integrated African operator serving the enterprise segment and advising a player on go-to-market strategy for a mobile launch in an Asian market.
Suraj also contributes to McKinsey’s global health initiative, helping an African operator think through its mobile health strategy.
