About Raoul
Raoul leads McKinsey’s work on biosystems, including biofuels, biomass-based power generation, biochemicals, and REDD (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries). His clients include private and public companies, utilities, governments, and foundations.
Raoul combines deep knowledge of biofuels and a passion for sustainability with extensive prior experience working with financial institutions on issues ranging from strategy and operations to risk management.
Recent examples of his work include helping a biofuels technology company define its growth and go-to-market strategies; working with agricultural companies on energy-crop development strategies; and supporting a consortium of bioenergy and biofuels companies as it developed an economic case for creation of a ‘bio-hub’ in a European member state.
Based in Jakarta, Raoul was formerly a leader in McKinsey’s Amsterdam office and is a past president of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands.
