About Robin
Robin Nuttall is a Principal in McKinsey’s London Office. He is a leader in McKinsey’s Public Sector Practice and has served both regulators and regulated clients on strategy and organizational issues across a range of sectors and geographies. These include transportation, oil & gas, mining, high tech, healthcare, telecommunications, and consumer goods companies in Europe, Asia and North America.
He has worked with one of the world’s largest airports to help shape a new approach to regulatory risk, including supporting the client through their submissions to government and regulators.
Robin has helped build regulatory options for the global airline industry. This involved costing options for abating CO2 emissions and then framing choices for airlines—via the leading trade association—for how to proactively engage regulators about the trade-offs. The recommendations have been fully adopted by the more than 90 airlines.
He has worked on economic development in Russia including a full economic benefits case for several industry sectors, including the investments required and a multi-billion government package.
In another engagement, Robin supported a western European government on climate change legislation during its inaugural period, modelling and defining the first set of carbon budgets and reduction levers. This is now implemented as government policy.
