About Rob

Rob is a senior leader of our global Risk Practice and our Advanced Industries Practice in the Americas. He is passionate about helping clients to develop innovative business models and create differentiated technologies. Since joining McKinsey in 1994, Rob has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including advanced manufacturing, energy, and aftermarket services, with a focus on issues related to enterprise risk management (ERM), commercial strategy, and corporate finance.

Rob’s recent projects have included a comprehensive redesign of a global conglomerate’s ERM activities; the development of a cash-flow-at-risk model that reshaped a mining company’s capital-investment and business-development strategies; and the redesign of an industrial-equipment manufacturer’s supply chain, allowing the company to better manage tremendous uncertainty in demand, materials costs, and currency. He has worked on more than 40 client projects in the past three years alone.

Rob is also the lead editor of McKinsey’s Working Papers on Risk series and oversees our internal and external training programs on risk-related topics. He holds a CFA designation, as well as degrees from the University of Calgary and the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Rob serves on the advisory board for the Haskayne School of Business and the American Friends of the University of Calgary.
