About Sajal
Sajal leads our Retail Practice in the Americas.
In 16 years of consulting, Sajal has supported global retail and packaged goods clients as they set growth strategies. He has led comprehensive commercial transformations for top retailers, covering assortment architecture, pricing and promotions, and visual merchandizing. Sajal also works with his clients to improve the performance of their in-store operations and their supply chain management.
His recent projects include a multichannel, multicategory merchandizing overhaul for a large North American retailer, a lean operations program for a maker of household goods, and due diligence efforts for private equity and retail portfolio companies. Regardless of the scope or size of a project, Sajal makes capability building a top priority, coaching executives and helping to design knowledge transfer programs.
Before joining McKinsey, Sajal was a consumer goods executive in Asia and Europe, most recently at Mexx International, a European maker of branded apparel based in the Netherlands. A graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, he speaks at industry conferences and recently contributed to the McKinsey Global Institute report, “Growth and Renewal in the United States.”
