About Christian
Christian is one of the leaders of the European Pharmaceuticals and Medical Products practice, with a focus on Generics. Since joining McKinsey in 2005, he has served pharmaceutical companies and healthcare clients on a wide range of commercial and strategic topics globally. Prior to joining McKinsey, Christian worked as a clinical researcher and has his doctoral degree summa cum laude in neuroscience at the Institute of Physiology in Freiburg. Christian has studied medicine at the universities of Munich, Freiburg, Calgary and Nîmes.
Recent projects have included: Development of a 10-year corporate strategy program with a global top-5 pharma company; regional marketing and sales strategy for a top generics company in Central and Eastern Europe; sales optimization for a top pharma company in Germany; and marketing & sales support for a major pharma product launch in Europe. Other examples of his work include developing a European market access strategy for a top pharma player, developing a global business unit growth strategy for a specialty care pharma company, optimizing sales for a medical device producer in emerging markets, providing pre-/post-integration support in a top-pharma merger, and assisting in a study on European wholesale markets and cross-border pharmaceuticals trade.
