About Aurobind

Aurobind is a director in our Chicago office. He is a leader of our Operations Practice and also leads our work in the industrial sector.

Aurobind focuses on helping firms redefine their strategy and operations to drive higher bottom-line results and faster growth. He works frequently with clients in the automotive and assembly industry as well as the health-care and private-equity sectors. In these engagements he advises on topics ranging from product planning to sourcing, pricing, and marketing.

He has worked with clients to help streamline their organizational structures, reduce complexity, and increase profitability by identifying products and markets to be divested along with products and business units to invest in for profitable growth.

In addition to his formal client work, Aurobind has led major McKinsey
knowledge-development efforts. He has worked in several locations, including Brussels, Pittsburgh, and Detroit, where, while leading the office, he spearheaded a pro bono effort to consolidate several economic-development organizations, which led to the formation of the Downtown Detroit Partnership.

Aurobind received a degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was named his class’s Ford Scholar. Before attending business school, he worked for 2 years as a researcher at the Texas Center for Superconductivity.
