The Global Infrastructure Initiative, November 28-30, 2012

Global Infrastructure Initiative

Convened by McKinsey & Company, the Global Infrastructure Initiative brings together a cross-section of the most senior leaders in infrastructure to launch a new global discussion on meeting the challenge of building a better world.

Purpose

The Global Infrastructure Initiative gathers leaders of companies, countries, cities, and global institutions to create new methods for delivering 21st-century infrastructure to a dynamically changing world. Unlike other events, the program centers on dialogue and debate, rather than presentations, with the specific objective of forging the insights and relationships required to drive long-term change. The goal is to rethink infrastructure, building on the cutting-edge insights and deep expertise of all attendees. Participants take away new ideas and concrete solutions to apply to their business, city, country, or organization.

Agenda

Built around four content pillars, the agenda reflects the core considerations required to successfully plan, operate, build, and finance infrastructure assets and portfolios. Leveraging a combination of interactive general sessions and immersive roundtable discussions, participants engage in an unprecedented exchange of ideas, informed by the latest data, global best practices, and innovative approaches.

  • Deciding what to build (plan)
  • Optimizing existing infrastructure (operate)
  • Smarter, faster, better, cheaper (build)
  • Redefining finance and public accountability (finance)

The Global Infrastructure Initiative is an invitation-only event, limited to the most senior leaders in the global development and infrastructure sector. Participants include leading policy makers, planners, investors, financiers, builders, owners, and operators.
