Dr. Beyer von Morgenstern leads McKinsey’s High Tech, Media, and Telecom Practices in Asia. He previously led the European group in the same practices in Munich until 2004.
Dr. Beyer von Morgenstern brings clients a global business perspective, having served high-tech organizations in North America, Germany, Scandinavia, China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. His holistic understanding of the capabilities needed by leading companies in order to succeed in a variety of cultures informs the current focus of his consulting work: supporting multinationals in developing a strong footprint in emerging markets.
An educator within and outside McKinsey, Dr. Beyer von Morgenstern is regularly involved in major research programs. He currently leads a large-scale study of the emerging Chinese high-tech industry in collaboration with Tsinghua University in Beijing, He is also a prolific writer and industry commentator who has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and the South China Morning Post. He contributes ongoing reporting on Asia business in the McKinsey Quarterly, and he recently contributed to M&A China, published by Frankfurter Allgemeine Buch.
