Steve has deep expertise helping healthcare companies harness the power of technology to improve their business operations and competitive position.

As the global leader of McKinsey’s Healthcare Information Technology work, Steve serves a wide variety of healthcare organizations in developing and executing technology strategies. His clients include payors and providers, pharmaceutical and medical products companies, and IT providers to the industry.

A core component of Steve’s work is helping payors and providers improve IT performance and returns. He also leads transformation efforts for corporate functions (including IT) at major pharmaceutical companies and medical product manufacturers. He works with clients to refine market and product strategies for IT providers to the healthcare industry, and has assisted McKinsey teams in identifying and evaluating IT-based business opportunities for healthcare companies and new entrants to the industry.

An active developer of knowledge, Steve contributes to both the McKinsey Quarterly and McKinsey on Business Technology, and he serves on panels addressing the role of IT in healthcare.
