About Jochen
Jochen is a leader in our Chemicals Practice and directs our work with cement companies globally; he also leads the Operations Practice’s manufacturing work in the EMEA region. Jochen has extensive experience supporting local and multinational companies on operational and strategic topics. He joined McKinsey in 1999.
Among his recent strategy projects, Jochen has supported a global cement player on a portfolio review, helped several building-materials companies conduct commercial due diligence reviews, advised a cement producer on a strategic pricing project, and assessed the impact of a potential taxation of carbon emissions on the German cement industry. Jochen’s experience in manufacturing and operations is extensive as well; he has helped a European cement producer optimize its footprint, supported another building materials producer in setting up a large-scale turnaround program, and has worked on multiple lean transformation programs. He also recently helped a European utility set up and implement a comprehensive transformation program.
