About Gary
Gary is a director in McKinsey’s Business Technology Practice based in Silicon Valley. He works with business and technology executives on a full range of issues and has particular expertise in IT architecture, lean principles applied to IT, cloud computing, and IT organization and governance.
Major clients include high-tech companies, Fortune 100 companies in the energy, financial services, and engineering-services sectors, as well as not-for-profits and public-sector organizations.
Gary's recent technology consulting includes helping the CIO of a major US government department dramatically improve IT productivity and quality; assisting in the transformation of a Fortune 100 high-tech company’s infrastructure outsourcing and offshoring capabilities; and working with a major chemical company to create processes, organizations, and information systems to support order management, planning, forecasting, scheduling, and multitier worldwide distribution. In the energy sector Gary was part of a team that assisted a large integrated oil-and-gas company in designing, building, and implementing a gas management system using object-oriented technology.
Gary speaks frequently on enterprise technology issues to both industry and internal McKinsey communities.
