About Yoshinobu
Yoshi leads McKinsey’s Industry sector in Japan, which includes Advanced Electronics, Aerospace and Defense, Automotive and Assembly, Chemicals, Transportation, and High Tech.
Yoshi has expertise in operations and has counseled many leaders on various dimensions of operating models and improvement efforts. Recently he helped a global manufacturer operating in Japan resolve supply-chain bottlenecks in connection with a major development program, counseled senior executives at a defense and aerospace organization, and helped transform an automotive organization's supply-chain management.
Other work includes:
- Designing and leading a profitability improvement program for a global digital products company, starting with procurement and capital expenditure optimization and shifting toward growth and pricing improvements
- Leading a transformation program for a major manufacturing organization, resulting in the company improving overall productivity and increasing the availability of outputs, as well as its working capital productivity
- Supporting a number of cost efficiency improvement programs and capital expenditure optimization across the continents, including projects in China, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East
- Developing a holistic turnaround strategy for a Japanese automotive OEM that entailed refocusing the company’s portfolio, elevating the operations excellence, and improving sales and marketing activities.
