About Meredith

Meredith joined the San Francisco office in fall 2007 after graduating from Dartmouth College and Thayer School of Engineering with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. After her first two years as a generalist serving clients in various industries, Meredith was able to design a 3rd year program focusing on global health and health systems. She mainly serves healthcare payor and provider clients as well as various not-for-profit clients in global health. She is currently on a two-year educational leave of absence while she earns her MBA at Tuck, and she'll return to McKinsey full-time in 2012. Outside of work, Meredith enjoys spending time with family and friends, snowboarding, cooking, hiking, golfing (although not well), and traveling.

Hi everyone,

I cannot believe that my two year academic leave from McKinsey is almost over. I graduate from Tuck with my MBA in June and have only a handful of classes left before re-joining the “real world”.  Although it will be different to be on a work schedule again, I don’t feel like my pace of learning or the variety of people I will be able to meet will change much at all.  Last week I had a wonderful lunch with three incoming business analysts. They were each so dynamic and I loved hearing about their interests and passion for travel, business and life in general.  Returning to the firm as a senior associate will certainly pose new challenges around learning how to manage projects and how to see the whole picture in order to best solve a problem.  As always, it will be an adventure (stay posted for those stories).

On a separate note, I am taking a negotiations class right now.  It is fantastic! Everyone should take a negotiations class at some point in life. I think that McKinsey’s associate training already includes negotiations exercises, but if not I am going to try to get our next office training to include a workshop or two.

I had better get back to my homework for entrepreneurial finance, but I will send an update before I start back in the San Francisco office in July.

Best wishes,
Meredith
