The Pittsburgh office is one of the smaller ones at the firm with a close community of consultants. Our social committee makes sure we remain close as well. Each year we go out as an office at least once to watch our hometown baseball team—the Pirates.
During Simmons’s Farm family day, consultants and their families go on hayrides, pick pumpkins, and have a picnic at night around a fire. At Monte Carlo night, our consultants win and lose vast fortunes of fake money.
We go with the other offices in the Midwest complex—Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis—on annual retreats. Most recently, we built a boat as a team-building exercise and went jetskiing in Cancun, Mexico. Home to world-class museums, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Ballet, and the Pittsburgh Opera, the city is also a major stop on concert tours and a favorite pre-Broadway theater venue.
Throughout the year, Pittsburgh hosts a variety of amateur and professional sporting events, as well as a wide selection of festivals, including the Three Rivers Arts Festival, the Pittsburgh Children's Festival, the Pittsburgh Folk Festival, the Mellon Jazz Festival, and the Three Rivers Regatta.
